Cabrera Dominican Republic Government Supports Expats

Cabrera Dominican Republic Town Square

Cabrera Town Square

Hi, it’s Barry in DR.  As I watch the freedom-robbing actions the government officials are taking in the US, Europe and around the world it makes me appreciate what a different perspective of government we have here in our little town of Cabrera on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.  Here the local government officials we rub elbows with each day want to help us and protect us and protect our investment in their country.  Instead of spending their time trying to figure out which of our rights and priviledges they can step on today, our local government officials focus on how to better serve us and make life a little better every day.  Refreshing.

In today’s videos we interview Nelson Gonzalez,  the Assistant Mayor of the town of Cabrera Dominican Republic.  Nelson describes some of the many infrastructure and community projects his administration is implementing and also explains what the government is doing and willing to do for expats and investors coming to the area.In this first video we take a look at the central square in Cabrera and discuss some recent community improvement projects.

In this second video we continue our interview with Nelson in a popular restaurant down on the seashore.  Nelson explains how the government is focused on protecting the expats and investors and protecting their property.

Hope you enjoyed this short interview with our Assistant Mayor.  In the Dominican Republic, just as in many other parts of the world, the attitudes and the accessibility of the government officials can make life just little easier.  We will gladly share our contacts and the shortcuts we have learned in our years in this area.  For now, it’s Barry in the DR.
