Hotel La Catalina – Expat Owner Interview

Hotel La Catalina in Cabrera

Hotel La Catalina in Cabrera

Hi guys.  Barry in DR here.  If you have participated in one of our free Discovery Tours, you probably have had the opportunity to visit or stay in Hotel La Catalina in Cabrera.  This charming little family run hotel is nestled in beautifully landscaped grounds on the hillside overlooking the ocean.  I think Hotel La Catalina is the perfect homebase for exploration of the whole north coast of the Dominican Republic.  The apartments and hotel rooms are affordable, the food is good and the pool, tennis court, jacuzzi and open air activity conference facility provide plenty of opportunity for relaxation and comfort.  Today we interview Tim Muller, owner of Hotel La Catalina.  As an expat from Minnesota, Tim offers his experience of over 20 years of expat life in all parts of the Dominican Republic.  As Tim explains in his interview… Cabrera is his favorite spot on this tropical island.

In addition to running Hotel La Catalina, Tim and his daughter are very active in charitable activities in the local community, with a foundation that assists local public schools and various healthcare initiatives.

In this interview, I hope you will get an appreciation for the fact that there are always opportunities to stay busy and make a real difference in this area.  Whether you want to start your own business or just help our the local community, there is always plenty of opportunity to get involved, meet the locals and other expats, and live a fulfilling life in Cabrera.

Well, that’s it for today. Off to pick up some guests for one of our free Discovery Tours.  It’s Barry in the DR.
