Helping Out – Come To Cabrera And Make A Difference

ShawnKelly3Looking for something to do in your retirement?  Want to really make a difference in the lives of people that are not dependent on government handouts or welfare programs?  Want to have fun and a better lifestyle while you are making a difference?

Well you may be interested in checking out what this young missionary couple is doing in Cabrera and the surrounding communities.  Shawn and Kelly, through their Three:Sixteen mission are working with kids to build characters and athletic skills as well as teaching self sustainability skills to families living out in the countryside.  They have found a welcoming home where they are appreciated and where they can really make a difference.

Along the way, their family is being welcomed into the local community as “part of the family”.  You will find the same if you choose to come here to retire or simply to escape the loss of freedoms in your home country.  The locals respect and like expats in this little rural village and there are plenty of opportunities to fit into the community if you choose to.  Whether in Cabrera, or in some other expat haven, you will quickly discover that the expats that choose to fit into the local community will have the greatest experience and the most comfortable transition.  That is true whether you choose to go to Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama… wherever.   The real life is outside of the gated communities.

In this video Shawn and Kelly describe their Three:Sixteen mission and explain how they open their doors to other caring expats to help in that mission if you should choose to.

If you would like to spend a little time in Cabrera and help Shawn and Kelly in their mission contact them and see if there are any openings in the mission house.  It is great way to see the Cabrera area from the grass roots.
