Punta Cana 2015 – Home Of The Dominican Republic All-Inclusive

Punta Cana - Home Of The Dominican All-InclusiveContinuing along on our 2015 road trip through the Southeast region of the Dominican Republic, we decided to give you a little taste of what Punta Cana is all about.  To sum it up, Punta Cana is all about catering to the millions of  vacationers and tourists that make the Dominican Republic the number one vacation destination in the Caribbean.

While we would never personally choose to live in Punta Cana, it is a great place to visit once and a while just to get our fill of the tourist mecca.  I would compare Punta Cana to Cancun in Mexico.  Both were created almost exclusively to cater to vacationers and cruisers.  Not really authentic Dominican, but pretty well done and certainly a great place for a short vacation.

In the video, as we ride some of the streets of the Punta Cana town, you may note that it looks pretty much like any other Florida city.  Well maintained streets, medium rise buildings, new construction, etc.  Keep in mind that probably 2/3 of the tourists that come to stay in Punta Cana’s all-inclusive resorts probably do not even see this much of the town of Punta Cana.  So many of these visitors never even leave the gates and walls surrounding their chosen all-inclusive resort.  Nothing wrong with that, but there is so much more to see and experience in this great island.

Ride with us as we quickly take a peak at just a little of what you might find if you choose to visit Punta Cana… and we do recommend you check it out along with the rest of the island.  No hurry, because there is no way you could cover the whole island in months of concentrated exploration.

Headed out on our next free North Coast Discovery tour.  Hope you will join us on a tour pretty soon so that you can experience the real Dominican Republic.

Wow ,i did not realise that Punta Cana was like that. It reminded me of parts of West Palm beach ,Fort Lauradale and St petersburg, very informative, jb

That’s a good comparison but I’ve got to say even nicer. Most of the areas mentioned could use a face lift. Sagging as they’ve been there for so long. Still your right on the comparison.

Very nice video you put together! I definitely agree with your comparison of Punta Cana to Cancun. Part of the charm though is that if you want to get out and explore, you can do that without the overwhelming crowds. Great post!
