Bayahibe 2015 – Quaint Little Marina Village On The Extreme Southeast Coast

Bayahibe - A Great Little Marina Town On the Southeast Coast of the DRNext stop on our 2015 road trip is the little marina village on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic.   Bayahibe gets its fair share of tourists from nearby Punta Cana and also Dominican families from the capital, Santo Domingo.  Bayahibe keeps is small town atmosphere while also being well equipped to handle visiting tourists.  As you will see in our video below, Bayahibe is a marina town with plenty of boats either dry docked or sitting in the bay.  There is a much higher incidence of marina activity and privately owned boats here on the south coast of the Dominican Republic.   Up on the North Coast, most of the marina activity would be found in Puerto Plata and then a little further west in the bay of Luperon.

The main reason we ventured into Bayahibe was as a jumping off point to venture out to the Dominican Republic’s largest island… Sonoa Island.  We will give you a few scenes from Sonoa on our next video.  It is great offshore day trip for a day of sand, sun and rum.  We enjoyed our day of rest on Sonoa Island and highly recommend it for one of your own exploration trips of this incredible island.

In this video  we take a quick drive through Bayahibe and check out some of the marina facilities.  We spent our last night in Bayahibe and had dinner at a great seaside restaurant, but more about that on our next video.

Come explore the great island with us.  Join us on one of our free North Coast Discovery Tours.
