So many of you readers have been asking for more examples of the kinds of real estate investments you can expect to find down here in the little village of Cabrera. Finally, Johnny and I had a little time off to hit the road and share some of what we are finding. In this post we will take a look at a couple typical in-town properties for something that is a little different than the cliffside oceanview homes we tend to focus on. These in-town homes offer several advantages, especially for those expats looking for inexpensive rental properties or prefer to get by without a car.
In the first video, we take a peek at a 3 bedroom, 3 bath single level intown residence on a nice corner lot on a quiet street. As with much of the concrete construction in this region of the Dominican Republic, adding a second floor onto this property would be affordable and would probably yield a good return on investment.
This home is typical of some of the better intown homes that we find for our readers from time to time. This type of home typically sells in the range of $125,000 and $135,000 USD when we can find them.
The second video tour is a little different. This is a little smaller intown property but is already set up as a duplex apartment and even offers the opportunity to add an additional studio apartment over the garage area. The lower apartment includes two sizable bedrooms and 2 baths, while the upper apartment offers the same. What makes this type of property especially interesting is the immediate opportunity for two or more rental incomes. Like the other example property, a fair price for this duplex would be approximately $120,000 to $130,000 USD with a goal for rentals of about $700 to $800 per month.
Tell us what you think. Do you want to see more property tours? We will do what we can to accomodate.
