Exploring Pirate Beach Near Cabrera

Pirate Beach Near CabreraSome days you just need a little time off-the-beaten-path to clear the cobwebs out of your brain and to just relax.  Thankfully there is no shortage of out of the way spots up here on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.  Whether you prefer the sounds of waves lapping on the beach or the rush of mountain waterfalls or the sound of birds in the hillside, you will not be disappointed if you take a few minutes to explore.  On this early morning jaunt, Johnny and I chose to head about 25 miles out of Cabrera to explore what they call Pirate Beach and the excellent beachside restaurant.

Of course, this is this one of many uncrowded beaches tucked in along the coastline up on the North Coast.  If it is solitude and uncrowded beaches you are looking for, there are no shortage up here.

I hope you enjoy our little trek to one of the more remote little beaches.  I suspect you will find yourself returning on your own for a lazy day on the beach once you are down here.

Thanks, Barry…what a beautiful spot you uncovered for us again. Where is it exactly? I’d love to spend an afternoon there with the family.

Right before you enter Gaspar Hernandez There’s a sign on the right hand side of the road. Knew about it for years but recently it’s reopened with the same folks running it. Enjoy
