Retired US Military Family Finds Caribbean Retirement Haven In Cabrera Dominican Republic

US Military Retiree Discovers Cabrera Dominican RepublicYou won’t find a more patriotic or tough retired US soldier than Larry.  He has served and worked in some of the hottest trouble spots across the globe.  As he says in this video interview, “I am not running away.  I don’t run away from anything.  I generally run toward danger when others run away.  It is just being wise.  We have health insurance, not because we believe something awful is going to happen, but just because it is being wise“.  Larry’s set his plan B to retire offshore because he felt it was the wise thing to do for his family.

As a retired soldier, like so many other families in the United States, Larry is facing the fact that his retirement dollars simply will no longer stretch far enough for his family to live the good life in America.  Retirees on fixed incomes are being assaulted on every front, from out-of-control healthcare costs, property taxes, income taxes, rising utility bills, price inflation…. the limited dollars simply won’t stretch far enough these days.  One solution, as Larry and his family has researched over the last 3 to 5 years, is to move offshore where the cost of living on every front is more in line with the funds available.  After years of research, Larry and his wife have settled on the little North Coast village of Cabrera for their next home.

Be sure and check out the video interview below…. Larry and Angie share a lot of their wisdom about Plan B’s and what matters in life.  Good stuff…..

As Larry shared in this interview, waiting on the government or anyone else to take action to resolve the problems is not a good plan B.  They haven’t solved the problems in the past and they will not solve them in the future.  Only YOUR actions in you own behalf can see you through these troubling times.  As Larry so wisely surmised, “a house divided will not survive” and for decades now the United States has become increasingly divided on every front.  Some of us believe that much of that division has been well orchestrated by the power brokers and world-government proponents like Soros.  There are some very powerful people that are placing big bets on the turmoil and ultimate absorption of the United States into a more subservient role.  A “wise” man does his own research and takes action to protect his family, as Larry has.

One factor that most families considering an offshore retirement face is consensus.  As Angie pointed out in this video, she was apprehensive and a bit challenged by the whole idea of retiring offshore.  But as she said, she had faith in Larry and followed his research.  Finally, after a three years of research and an immersive visit to the North Coast, she is convinced.  Angie told us that her number one priority was safety… and after traveling over 400 miles in various towns and cities Angie summed it up like this. “I feel safe and comfortable.  I feel open and right at home.  I don’t want to leave“.  And later in the interview Angie summed it up like this…. “I feel very safe.  It’s great.  It is so beautiful here.  This is LIFE to me.  I am so excited.”

Maybe you would like to explore whether Cabrera and the North Coast of the Dominican Republic might be the best place for you and your family to live the good life on a fixed budget.  If so, please take us up on one of our free North Coast Discovery Tours.  There is no more efficient or cost effective way to explore life offshore.

Does the DR tax U.S. Military retirement and/or U.S. VA benefits of people who become residents?

While I’m not an attorney to the best of my knowledge no. The DR does not double tax.

Barry your friend Larry made an important statement for me which went something like this…there is no unsolvable problem, it’s just a matter of finding the right way of solving it. Two important parts of his reasoning, no unsolvable problem and there is a particular way of solving it. Thanks for sharing the conversation, golden info…
