In a recent post I did a little video about all the renovations the city has made to the little central park in Cabrera. While I was shooting I noticed that there were a group of mountain bicycle riders starting to gather for their annual Mountian Bike trek around Cabrera. I thought I would share a video by one of the sponsors that shows you just a sampling of what that event was like out on the trail.
There is not something going on all the time here in the little village of Cabrera, but…..
if you are curious and keep your eyes open, you can always find something to keep you entertained. Of course, there are always the 8 or 9 nearby beaches. Each seems to have its own character and charms. On many you will find food vendors serving fresh fish and chicken dinners. On others you may feel like you are the first person to step foot on the beach in years. Something for everyone on the beaches.
And even if you don’t participate in the sport of mountain biking, you may enjoy taking a spin in your car out over the many little mountain roads. From many of the ridgelines up in the mountains you can see the coast line and the dramatic valleys for as far as you can see.
If you are looking for a place to live a simpler life then Cabrera on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic is certainly worth a look.
